(1)
a. The bank was destroyed.
b. The bank was robbed by belligerent professors and students.
c. Every stingy professor loves a bank.
つまり [belligerent professors] and [students] なのか [[belligerent] professors and students]] ととるかである。
(2)
a. Every stingy professor loves a bank and that bank provides the highest interest rate.
b. Every stingy professor loves a bank and each one loves a bank that everybody else hates.
